Scouts are bold, curious, and ready to take on the world and at 1st Carrickfergus, we give them every chance to do just that
(with a few laughs along the way!).
Open to young people aged 10½ to 14, Scouts get stuck into real adventures whether it’s learning how to navigate in the wild, cooking on campfires, building shelters, mastering new skills, or taking on team challenges. It’s all about gaining independence, building resilience, and having a whole lot of fun while doing it.
Scouts take everything they've learned in Squirrels, Beavers, and Cubs and crank it up a notch! They’ll work towards activity badges, go on exciting camps, join community projects, and start shaping who they want to be.
We believe in encouraging young people to try new things, push their limits, and discover what they’re truly capable of all in a supportive, energetic, and slightly muddy environment!
Uniform
Our Scouts wear a smart, practical uniform that gets them ready for every adventure – whether it's hiking through hills or chilling around the campfire.
The Scout uniform includes:
A teal green Scout shirt or blouse
Navy blue activity trousers
A green neckerchief and woggle – these are provided by us when they join the Troop!
